Meet Dr. April Scott.

A therapist, consultant, and educator committed to breaking the stigma against mental health, advancing equity, wellbeing, and psychological safety in organization.

Dr. Scott has had a passion for mental health since she was a teenager. At a young age, she understood deeply just how much power our thoughts have on our whole mental well-being.

And with that understanding, which helped transform her life, she wanted to take that knowledge and experience to help transform others.

 andrregreguin hT Shroughout her journey as a therapist, Dr. Scott has worked with a variety of individuals, from vulnerable youth populations, trauma survivors to adults battling addiction.

In each of these groups, there was one thing that always stuck out to her: the power of a resilient mindset.

The question burned—and still burns—How do some people continuously find the motivation to keep going, despite the odds.

Dr. Scott passion for resilience and equity has lead her to serve on Board of Trustees for organizations such as t MidCarolina National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) and Work in Progress SC.

Throughout her career in higher education,  she’s created initiatives a that help prepare and shape the student body, like DiCE—a diversity and inclusion campus experience program developed at Auburn University and has developed curriculum to help improve resilience and understanding of mental health.

She regularly partners with faculty and staff to help them prioritize their own mental well-being while equipping them to support students more effectively, especially those in crisis. Her work also centers on psychological safety and employee well-being, creating workplace cultures where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Dr. Scott designs scalable programs and workshops that future leaders can adapt to meet the evolving needs of their organization.

And for each audience she speaks to, she aims to impress the importance of focusing on mental and emotional health and a reminder that we are all capable of resilience and living full lives.
